I am really proud of making the heartbeet brownies. They are fudgy, rich, perfect amount of sweet, and in my opinion they have a very similar taste of Ghirardelli brownies. The difference is that these brownies are made with more nutritious ingredients including BEETS. Well, a beet. And a very little beet. I found a very small beet and roasted it. It gives the mix a subtle and gorgeous red velvet appearance. I recommend prepping the beet in advance, so the recipe won’t take too much time. You can store it in the fridge after it’s roasted and peeled.
The heartbeet brownies are the perfect treat for whenever you are craving something chocolatey and they are also very cute for Valentine’s Day. Eat them from the tray, cut them into pieces, or use heart cookie cutters like I did. Just be sure to give it time to cool before cutting out the shapes and wipe off any brownie crumbs left on the cutter before you cut out each heart. The texture to these are chewy and the perfect amount of moist (sorry if you hate that word lol). In the end, I garnished them with rose petals that I use for making tea. I bet they would be amazing with vanilla icecream too. Here’s the recipe for the heartbeet brownies:Print

HEARTBEET BROWNIE INSTRUCTIONS
♥ preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease the brownie pan with some coconut oil and set aside.
♥ mix the dry ingredients in the bowl and set aside. add the wet ingredients to the blender and blend on high. slowly add in the dry ingredients until blended thoroughly.

if you are doing the heart cookie cutter shape, I recommend leaving it in the fridge for a bit. always wash the cookie cutter after each time so it comes out smoothly as possible. I know the beet isn’t technically a wet ingredient but just go with it ♥
