
With the fear of the pandemic, it’s important to be eating foods that make us feel well. I made the Immunity-boosting Smoothie, because I believe it gives my body the nutrients it needs to fight viruses. During this pandemic, it’s important to listen to your body and eat the foods you know will keep you the healthiest possible (also drink lots of water).
I created the Immunity-boosting Smoothie last week and have been drinking it almost every day. Not only is this smoothie packed with Vitamin C from the lemon, but it also has anti-inflammatory effects from the ginger. Ginger also promotes cardiovascular health and is incredible for clearing up the sinuses. This smoothie is fiber rich yet easy on the stomach. It is great for the digestive system and inflammation is something we want to avoid in order to have a strong immune system. The Immunity-boosting Smoothie has a medicinal taste from the ginger in lemon with a grounding taste from the banana and spices. It is truly so healing.



About the ingredients…
Banana – vitamin C, manganese, potassium, and digestion aid.
Ginger – anti-inflammatory, reduces nausea, and eases stomach.
Cinnamon – antioxidant rich and lowers blood sugar levels.
Cardamom – also antioxidant rich and lowers blood sugar levels and has antibacterial effects.
Lemon – vitamin c, potassium, and boosts metabolism.
Nut Milk – energizing and adds calories to provide strength to help build immunity.

Ingredients
- 1 banana (frozen)
- 1 cup nut milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 1 tbsp ginger (peeled + roughly chopped)
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel the ginger with a peeler or a spoon and discard the skins.
- Roughly chop the ginger on the cutting board.
- Add the chopped ginger into the blender along with the remainder of the ingredients.
- Blend.
